Client

We worked with School-to-School International and World Vision to produce over a dozen reports that evaluated the impact of All Children Reading projects around the wold. These activities tested new approaches to reading and looked at community involvement in the education process. With such interested results, the client wanted to create three succinct, thematic reports that could showcase key findings related to students with disabilities, community and parental engagement, and technology-based education innovations.

Challenge

The client wanted to transform a huge amount of technical content into three thematic reports and effectively tease out important findings and statistics, as well as tell a clear visual story. They wanted the reports to connect to one another and relate back to the individual end-of-project reports from which the findings were sourced. Project photos varied in quality and content, and there were several tables and graphs to incorporate.

Aha! Moment

We created a color palette and style guide to compose a distinct visual story that clearly tied the three reports together and referenced the style of the individual end-of-project reports. We emphasized the photos and used color coding to create visual cues that pointed to the important aspects of the research findings.

Each report concludes with a section titled “Lessons Learned for Future Funding” which parses out the essential takeaways from all research findings. We designed this section as a two-page spread with visual icons attached to each idea to make the main points clear and accessible.

Impact

The three reports can be found on the All Children Reading website—a knowledge base targeting key education practitioners, researchers and policymakers around the world. Printed versions of the reports are also distributed at key meetings and fora to share out lessons learned to help inform future education interventions.
